This tour takes us to discover the stunning mountainous landscapes of the Serra da Estrela, often referred to as the Alpes Suíços of Portugal. In addition to the breathtaking views, this experience combines historical heritage, culture, and the delicious typical gastronomy of the region.

We begin the journey in Covilhã, known as the gateway to the Serra da Estrela. Here, we visit the Museu do Queijo, where we can learn about the artisanal process of making the famous Queijo da Serra and savor its unique flavor.

We then head to the highest point of Continental Portugal, the imposing Torre da Serra. From this natural viewpoint, we enjoy unforgettable views that stretch to the Serra da Boa Viagem and, on clear days, as far as the Serra de Gredos, in Spanish territory.

We descend toward Penhas da Saúde, a beautiful mountain village located about 1,500 meters in altitude, in the heart of the Serra da Estrela. During the winter months, it is possible to admire the snow-covered landscape.

The descent continues with a stop in Manteigas, a village surrounded by stunning nature, located in the Zêzere Glacier Valley, approximately 700 meters in altitude. The surrounding landscape, marked by the river and natural formations shaped by time, is of unique beauty.

For wine and gastronomy lovers, we offer an exclusive experience (with prior reservation) at a local winery, where you can taste wines and cheeses from the region.

Finally, we will have one hour of free time in Belmonte, a village with remarkable historical heritage, especially linked to the Sephardic Jewish heritage and the resistance of Jews to religious intolerance in the Iberian Peninsula. A perfect place to explore before returning to the hotel.
